Brambleflower and Sootmask are mates who took in an abandoned kit their clan found. They didn't plan it, but Beekit was very taken with Sootmask and stuck to his side like glue. Sootmask, being the mushy cat that he is, started loving the little imp and started mentoring the Beekit early. Brambleflower saw how taken his mate was with this little kit he started joining their little hangouts, with Beekit's approval of course. Even after Beepaw became an apprentice to Sootmask, their relationship between the three of them grew into more of a family dynamic.
