I wasn't a huge fan of the first "Ant-Man". I'm not a fan of shrinking movies in general, but that one was just bland-ish, not to mention the terribly written villain and very dull and annoying Hope van Dyne. Honestly, she was such a fun-hating buzz-kill.

In some ways, Ant-Man and the Wasp is an improvement, luckily in many of the things I didn't like about the first.

Hope is a lot more fun here, mostly in part to her bigger role as Wasp, who she is also great as, even though she doesn't actually get a whole lot of focus. The relationship between Scott and Cassie is built on, and very adorable and sweet, as is the relationship Scott has with the rest of his family. The action as a whole is better, and the jokes are funnier. The villain, while still not very good, is at least interesting and relatable.
