Wanted to try a digital painting without lineart :3
And what's that in the distance- a background? Yup. Things just got real up in here

I didn't give the background much attention because I really feel like I'm not at the level in my ablilties where I can manage a detailed background along with a good composition (and I have tried, believe me) , not to mention that I still have trouble with lighting and form-shading So...I know this is far from perfect, but it's a start for me The only thing is, this painting kinda wiped me out, as far as arting goes, so I'll probably limit these kinds of paintings so that I don't get sick of them x') And I'm not abandoning my scrappy lineart xD cause I love cartoony things I'm just attempting to build my portfolio and branch out a little.
The one thing I wish I would have done is use some references...I mean I've seen plenty of art peices that involve a character standing under a canopy of trees with light shining on them, and that's something I've been wanting to depict for years, but I had no photo references for the light or her pose or even the "forest" (if I can call it that xD), so next time I'll try to use some sorry I'm just sort of brainstorming in this description

So anyway, here we have Kayanii, my rather shy Bosmer :3 This is her in Valenwood, actually, before she went to Skyrim. She's in her 30's in this picture, and she's a bit more bubbly than she normally is~ going to Skyrim and being in such unfamiliar settings reallllllly contributed to her already shy nature, and the handful of racist Nords complaining about Elves didn't help

I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this piece; where I can improve, what you think I did well, or could have done differently? It would be super helpful, and I LOVE constructive criticism Thanks so much!
