So, as you may have noticed, there is a new character in here. Meet Coal! He's my melanistic, firescales Skywing! And then you know Dawn. These two have been (or will anyway) through quite a bit together, and both have developed feelings for the other X3. However, neither really have the guts to say it, and since Coal has firescales... Well, Its kind of impossible for them to touch or even be close to each other. Coal knows this, and so he decides to leave as to make this easier on him and her.

(Her feeling of loss as he begins to leave)

(Doesn't want his to go, but knows they can't touch)

this is great! most of the people i have a firescales coal too but he's not melanistic, that's a nice touch!

At first I thought the black dragon was a firescales NightWing (this idea had occured to me once. NightWings also have fire so it is possible for them to have firescales too) but it's such a GREAT idea to make a melanistic firescales SkyWing, I loved it! I have made a melanistic SandWing character once (I don't have any drawing of her yet) and she is a dark brown, almost black SandWing and an Albino SkyWing named WhiteFireΒ 
I also loved your Sky/NightWing character, she looks really lovely You have a nice art style and your anatomy of dragons is really good Keep up with the good work

I have too! I actually have seen a fire scales Nightwing (although their ref isn't finished yet, but it still looks really cool!) and I think it would be cool to see fire scales from all fire-breathing tribes, Mudwings and Sandwings included!
Thanks! I was honestly really excited when i got the idea. Ive always loved the name Coal, but it didn't really seem to fit the normal palette of of a Skywing. Β So then I thought, what if He's mentalistic? and it just escalated from there.Β 
Ooh! That sounds cool! I haven't seen one of those yet! Ill have to check her out when you get a pic up! And Whitefire is so pretty!!!!! Ah I love changes in color pallets for characters... They always turn out so pretty!!!!

I see! Indeed it would be interesting to see a Firescales NightWing, a Firescales SandWing and a firescales Mudwing

I see! The name Coal indeed suits for a melanistic SkyWing It was a very great idea
I used almost the same idea for my melanistic SandWing character. She's named "Black Mamba" And here is the drawing I made of her Β  Β

This is amazing! I love the composition in this piece, particularly with how the sky outlines the characters. The anatomy and poses in this look amazing as well- you can tell that Coal still seems slightly reluctant to leave, and Dawn's worry and feelings for him are clear.Β 

I also just want to say that I love your character's designs so much! A mealanistic firescales SkyWing is such a neat idea, and I really love how you designed him. Dawn's design as a Sky/NightWing is really pretty too! It's nice to see a change from the usual red and black Sky/NightWing designs out there. ^^Β

Yeah. Or your dog when they don't want to go for a walk. Yesterday I was going to walk my dog. I put the leash on her and then she waddled into my living room and lied down. She didn't get up until I took the leash off XD
