When traveling through the desert, Kiyomi and her party encountered something unprecedented - a party identical to them, constructed of doppelgängers. This was the spell Ice Assassin - with a lock of the hair of your target, a talented mage could construct 1:1 imitations of their opponents with a singular agenda; killing and replacing those they were forged in the images of.

Kiyomi and her frigid counterpart circled each other, laughing and flirting. Kiyomi could imagine nothing more thrilling, nothing better, than dying by her own hand - for her clone, it was the second best thing.

When she came free from that battle, she did so with a new inspiration. She wants nothing more than the attention and love of those who behold her - and what better way to do that than to ensure there were multiple of her to do so? Her research led her not to Ice Assassin, but Mirror Walking - a spell that allows you to traverse from one mirror to the other, assuming one is willing to fight a copy of oneself. But Kiyomi had no intention of doing that - rather, she would enslave her copy with her specialized magic, risking herself for the act - and, upon doing so, create a feudalistic chain of Kiyomis entering the mirror, and coming out with more versions of herself. This was the start of her backup plan.

She would become a goddess. But if she couldn't... she would settle for drowning the world in her selves.
