Description
Balthazar meditates by the sacred gravesite deep within the forest,
watched over by the fledgling crows in the moonless night.
Much weighed on his mind: how could he ever hope to confront such terrible evil,
especially with a form so small and helpless as this?
Even if he could ever find his way home,
who would protect those lost in the forest?
He found peace in the quiet, in the darkness.
The longer he focused, the more a soothing calm embraced him.
Gradually it chased away the uncertainty and fear that itched at his mind,
offering instead a clarity to battle what was once a torrent of unending terror.
No longer would he run.
He would be the light in the dark.
