Description
Acrylic's on canvas. It has taken me some time finding inspiration, after some spinal problems, but i am back in the saddle again, and very happy with this new work.Tomorrow i will start painting this in oils.
( I paint the oils over the Acrylic! So the Acrylic paint will be completely covered by the oil paint!)

I was wondering, why do you paint over the acrylic with oil paint? Is the acrylic kind of like your rough draft?

If you don't mind, can you tell me what brand of acrylics and oils do you use? Also, don't you think that the fact that you already have an almost finished painting working as a perfect acrylic base helps a lot to make the upper oil color layer be so vibrant and enhanced rather than considering the pigments in oil colors better than those in acrylics? Because as a matter of fact, I've seen much richer colors in acrylic paintings than in oil paintings. Unless you're using a very high quality selection of oils.

Is it that you are going to start completely over in oils? Or are you just going over the acrylic in the oil?

I adore your work, very inspirational. One Q though, when you said you will start painting her in oils did you mean over the top of this acrylic painting? like adding in detail using oils instead of acrylic? I use only acrylic to try and achieve realism, please check out my work if you have the time

Yes, i always paint oils over the acrylic original. So in the end, the acrylic paint is completley covered with oil paint. Due to the oil colours you get much richer and deeper colourtones. To my opinion, this result can only be reached with oils!All the best to you aswell!
