So like the other thing I drew last year, this is a picture I drew to submit to Antheria Con's booklet. This time I think I got a little carried away... and I don't even know if it'll make it into the booklet or not! Oh well, whatever.For those of you who are wondering what's going on here:
"In the Ancient Egyptian underworld (known as Duat) hearts of the dead were weighed by Anubis against a feather from Ma'at's headdress. The hearts of those who were heavy with wrongdoing failed the test were given to Ammit for her to devour."

This is all sorts of nifty. I love your version of Ammit and the representation of the scales looks amazing. Plus the contrast between Anubis and the background is just so eye-popping.

The picture was looking good until you ruined it with Ammit. The background gives of a serious, brooding atmosphere. Ammit looks like a retarded Neopet. Is this picture supposed to be serious or cartoony? Pi a style and stick with it all the way through.

This is awesomely epic
I think this really brings the legend to life. Though, it does make me wonder why there aren't more cartoons/shows based on the mythology of the Egyptians. I mean, the Greeks and Romans have shows, but the only thing anyone ever seems to associate with Egyptian legends are mummies and ancient evils/curses

the style you draw with really brings the Egyptian part of this to life. You exaggerate certain characteristics of a subject to make it more like its essence than its reality, just like the Ancient Egyptians used to do with sculpting and architecture. Overall, this is a great piece, but it seems as though you are shying away from bigger, multi-faceted, designs. I think that if you continue to do pieces like this, it could really expand your horizon! by the way, i love Slightly Damned, keep drawing!

Ammit looks hungry. I love it when i can go 'I'm not the only person who knows this' about something, especially from a mythology.
I had a piece in my college Art History class that was Egyptian art that depicted the journey of the soul(from the Book of the Dead), including stopping at Anubis and Ammit. The teacher, had obviously not read the text book as she had no who was who, thought Horus was Ra. I, actually had to correct her about what was happening in the piece(and it said right in the text book what was going on and who was who too).
