Been pretty badly art blocked this last week, think I managed to break it temporarily. Had to spend a bit of extra time on this one in the process, but I think it was worth it. I think my art is finally starting to look less amature, which makes me happy.Sort of for the draw-me a pokemon event over at poke fan-club. Its my own call out so I wouldn't/couldn't win again, but hey, I wouldn't call something i wasn't willing to draw myself ; ). So for anyone entering/thinking to still take part this picture wont be competing for a place. Not calling anything for above reason. This is just for kicks.

I love that you stuck to a more finger-like take on his... well, fingers. As that's quite a big part of Lugia's design. Brilliant lighting effects on this!

For a Pokemon to have wings like that, I don't see how it could possibly fly..... and so quickly.

I just think that they utilize their psychic type to help them fly, they're much too bulky anyway, regardless of wing structure. Kinda like syphilglyph, no way that could fly otherwise without its psychic type.

Ah. I wasn't even aware that this type of pokemon was a psychic type. The last time I saw it was in the movie that came out... wow, I don't even know how many years ago. And I haven't really kept up with the pokemon world as a whole at all really, so I ... yeah.

finally a realistic lugia without feathers!!!!!i wonder why the hell everyone make it with feathers wings it a dive creature like dolphins.

Hah, thank you. I agree though, I don't particularly like lugia with feathers, it doesn't make much sense, I also see it as primarily an underwater creature where delicate feathers would be a nuisance. Its part psychic type so I imagine it uses that to keep itself in the air in large part.

/offtopic Well, the Silver Wing is a feather, isn't it? That suggests Lugia has them. Not to mention his status as Ho-Oh's opposite and leader of the three legendary birds also suggests he has some birdlike qualities... and, well, birds have feathers X'D (Personally I think both feathery, dragony, and normaly Lugias look amazing

True true, though not all birds neccisarily have to have large defined feathers (ie. penguins which lugia seems to resemble more than any other bird, though I don't find it particularly bird like in general as opposed to the much more obviously bird like Ho-oh and bird trio- Ho-oh also reigns over a trio that is not of the same species as itself- the beasts which gives the possibility that Lugia is not a true bird and is simply a flying type of which non-birds exist).
Reguardless though, I don't really mind alternate versions of Lugia, there are some pretty cool ones, I just find that lugia's main defining feature is its hand wings that seem to be thick and fleshy, which makes me sad when they're covered by feathers. Thats just me though.
