Description The fifth and perhaps the final Micro-Hero version of one of my Alien vs Predator OC's. Originally I had no intentions of doing this character because of the fact that Umiko was a character whom I had no definitive design for except for of course the skin pattern. But I was suggested that I try my hand at her and I figured that I might as well do it to see where I could go with it.

Umiko is the first daughter of Rakai'Thwei and Akasha Noguchi, and is something of a hybrid. Similar to how Hunter Borgia was a hybrid in Predator: Concrete Jungle.

This one was a challenge, more than my last Micro-Hero because not only was this a character that I had no definitive design for, this was a character who had an entirely different build and therefore I had to actually create new armor and clothes from scratch, and that was even more challenging.

And add to the fact that I had three chosen hair templates but chose to go for one which I felt fit the character, I had to recolor the hair, pixel by pixel to change it from brown to black. And to give it that extra tribal feel, I added the beads in the hair. Her style is supposed to be flat and smooth up top but braided in dreadlocks in the back. Similar to how *Femmes-Fatales did Machiko's hair in the Machiko commission he had done for me. So I had a lot of references for armor and style to work with here.

The easiest part were the eyes, and the skin pattern as I wanted Umiko to look mostly human but the skin and the eyes have something of this alien touch to them, which I hope I conveyed well enough here.

Predator is copyright to 20th Century Fox.

Umiko belongs to Me.

Always nice to see another hybrid character. Makes me feel less alone for the one I have.

Now here's the one I was waiting to see! I'm glad you decided to try your hand at doing Umiko for your Micro-Heroes series. I think there are a lot of cool things going on with Umiko. I like the way you've done her hair (it really does remind me of the way I drew Machiko's!). The addition of the beads is great since it does give off that tribal feel you were going for. The armour itself is also really cool. I like the way the bottom armour wraps around giving off a fishtail effect. I also like the top she has on. To me, it's very tribal. My one criticism on this one, which isn't a problem with the others, has moreso perhaps to do with the template itself than your skill. The template has a lack of overall dimensionality to the skintone so she ends up looking quite washed out especially in her face. I think if her eyes were darkened and some shadows were added to her face, it might help to alleviate some of that washed out effect. Overall, this is another job well done and I especially give you props for trying your hand at a more human looking Micro. Bravo.

Umiko was a challenge for me to do because I had very little resources to work with her until I had managed to find a good template and some hair styles to work with her. When I colored the hair black, I could've sworn she almost had the Psylocke hair style, which was thankfully changed to something different when I gave her the beads.

Umiko's armor is very different than the others because her style in hunting is very different, so I figure that she would have a lighter style of armor. She prefers to use stealth and speed, but if melee combat is something she is thrown in, she can most definitely hold her own considering her strength and durability. The top, I actually used a Machiko Noguchi reference from one of the novels, so it's something of a nod to the character.

As for the template, believe it or not, the face actually had some look of blush to it. Because Umiko is not concerned about looking pretty, I actually erased the blush out but as for the details for the biceps and muscles, you're right it's definitely lacking considering the template I had to work with. But whatever shades I had to work with, I tried to capture as well with the armor and the clothing as well.

Glad to know you like!
