Humans are too dumb to understand the complexities and intricacies of Pokéspeak.

Airalin's question: Why do us humans hear pokémon repeat their names?
My answer: Well, not all pokémon repeat their names. Some pokémon (like Meowth from Team Rocket) teach their self how to speak in human language while others (like Chatot) can repeat a little bit of human language and just like pokémon, some humans don't hear pokémon repeat their names. Some humans are able to understand what pokémon are saying (like the boy in Detective Pikachu). So I rest my case.

If the anime is anything to follow, Meowth had to LEARN how to speak in English, and Ash can somehow completely understand what his Pikachu is saying (after the first few Indigo League episodes). So I wonder, if Meowth had to learn how to speak English, that doesn't sound like a psychic block. It sounds like that, indeed, they have their own language. Then again, of course, that's assuming that wasn't just a joke answer, or that they don't follow anime rules (which, considering how completely wack the anime can be, that wouldn't be surprising). So in that case...
Why do we hear Pokemon noises??

Well, that’s the thing- Airalin was likely caught from the wild (as seen by her being part of a party that took on the elite four), thus her nature and ability could easily be non-competitive. As for Serene, she was bred from 3828 eggs, thus the competitive stats make sense.
