I hope gen6 are not as expansive. F35 and J20 their design are very appealing and futuristic, yet they look like flying brick.

I predict gen5 is the final gen for this platform, the thing is already over invested, there should be a new disrupting tech coming soon.

I literally said "wow" when I saw this. Your work (especially your shading) has improved so much over the years. You are rapidly turning into one of the top military pencil artists on DA. Keep it up!

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I'm glad there are those that enjoy my work! As a fellow artist I'm sure you can relate to how much time and effort we spend making our work as detailed and realistic as possible. And I have a few drawings in the works that I promise I will post as soon as they're done. I'm very busy plus I am a perfectionist which is why they take so long to finish!

Awesome art!
I hope the F35 program doesn't end up being a colossal bust.
It's a shame the F 22 program was shut down by special interests and dopes.

F-35 program is different one than Raptor's, because it's de facto three aircraft for different tasks.

I know, but the F22 is in demand while the F35 is still mired in issues/controversy.

F-35 is more progressive and there's a lot of "childhood diseases", because of greater amount of new technologies.

Most importantly, outstanding job. What size canvas is this?
Otherwise, F-35s won't be deploying to the Pacific until 2017 at the earliest. Mainly due to the fact that the USMC rigged the IOC certification and gave it the green light purely for PR purposes. As it stands right now, the B can't even participate in even the most basic of combat scenarios and readiness rates are so terrible that they can't even fly enough to train their pilots adequately. Maybe someday it'll be a great aircraft, but no time soon.

Thx, it's a A4 format.
I basing on the official USMC's information.

Possibly the most broken aircraft in history..
But, I am bias, I have a huge love for the Harrier, and dislike this over priced pile of Company led rubbish, that a 30 year old jet can out fly..
I know it looks cool but cool don't cut it in the 'real' world..
Here in the UK, our Carriers (New) are about ready, the aircraft (these) are now not! They were meant to be..
Now, moving on.. Please..
As a piece of art, it excellent and must be said a super angle, well done..

We will indeed.. Thank you mate, as I say I am very bias.. I grew up on and around Harriers.. And believe our Government sold out..
But enough.. Thanks for replying..

Let me ask something.
There are 3 versions in the F-35 family, A, B, C, how come the B and C versions don't get the on-board gun like the A version?
I looked at the wing sizes once, are the B versions wings shorter and stubbier than the other versions?
When it gets none stealthy loads are wingtip pylons optional?

Kenkwasi In reply to Dan-S-T [2015-09-18 22:34:31 +0000 UTC]
I believe it is because the B version has to accommodate the massive lift fan behind the cockpit, probably wouldn't be enough space for an internal cannon and it's ammo. Though they are capable of carrying an center-line gun pod on the outside:

And the C version lacks internal cannon too but for what reason?
