Build: Average size and proportzions, but not as muscular as other young males his size. His hindquarters are disinctly less muscular than the rest of the body. His undercoat is fluffy, his top coat is longer and straight.

Injury: 4 large scars run across the top of his hindquarters. They resulted in nerve damage which causes weakness in is back legs, intermittent numbness and shooting nerve pain (due to tissue damage, not spinal damage).

Voice: Soft, muffled, but fairly high in the average male register

Personality

Outlier: Finnian is naturally soft spoken and tends to exist on the sidelines. He's by no means anti-social, he's actually quite sweet and easy to talk to, and does yearn for wolves to care about. His tendency to fall back from the spotlight is more about his deepseated belief that he is less-than, and bound to dissapoint.

Sweet/Thoughtful: He is quiet, but his thoughtfulness and care seemingly have no border. He's the kind of person that will not speak to you in weeks, but will then make a gesture that makes it apparent that he's thought of you fondly and often. He doesn't expect anyone to remember him or anything he's said, but will pretty much remember and treasure any kind word said to him.

Decietful: One of his poorer traits, Finnian does lie. Having grown up in a smothering atmosphere and not being the type to speak up for himself, he instead tends to keep things to himself, even to the point of lying about it. His deception is not about malevolent or flippant things, but rather facts or topics he finds important and worthy of protection (most notably: the source of his injury, and his attempts at practicing magic.)

Erudite: He is deeply interested in "nerdy" things. He loves learning about history, herbology, mythology- and basically all the things that end with "ology". Despite his young age, Finnian has become quite the encyclopedia about a great expanse of topics.

Pertainting to magic: For multiple reasons that Finnian hasn't entirely figured out for himself, he remains completely and utterly devoted to discovering how to use magic, despite his pack's beliefs on the matter. He hoped he'd be a natural prodigy, but that was far from the case. He has not been able to use magic in the slightest, which drives him to desperation. He has exhausted almost all of his avenues of learning about magic within the Tundes, and continues to practice, practice and practice. He tells himself it's because he wants to heal himself in a way herbs cannot, but deep down the desire comes more from a desire to fill an internal void: his feeling of powerlessness and pointlessness.

(Plot Note: I want him to eventually, out of desperation and a refusal to fail in gaining magic, go to the Keres Oak to seek a blessing, despite their feelings toward the Tundes. I'd love for something trippy to happen. XD)

Relationships: Finnian has not had a lot of practice with relationships, so he's not well-versed in the day to day of what social wolves do- but he does deeply want friends, and treasures the relationships he has, though he sometimes struggles with expressing that.

History

Early Life

Finnian was born to a high ranking, serious Einar power couple. As the only surviving pup of their only litter (open to change), his parents had every ambition that he would follow in their footsteps, and no reason to expect otherwise. As most of his relationship with his parents, even from an early age, was mostly about building him up to become a perfect Einar, meaning he never really got to develop a close, meaningful relationship with them. Finnian was not phyisically or constitutionally well-suited to fit his parents' mold- he was uncoordinated, unathletic, and of a soft temperment... much to the frustration of his 100mph parents.

The Injury

(NOTE: I want the source of this injury to eventually tie into some IC plot, please contact me if you have ideas or a character you think could be responsible!)

This was worsened even further when Finnian appeared out the the trees one day as a young juvenile, bloodied, barely concious, having sustained deep gashes to his hind quarters. Finnian refused to explain what had happened to him, the source of his injuries remains a mystery to this day. As he healed, it was clear the gashes hadn't seriously injured his spine, and they eventually healed. They did, however, leave his hind quarters with permanent nerve damage. As he grew into a young adult, his back legs remain weak, with intermittent numbness and shooting pains.

Growing Up

After this mysterious injury, it was clear to his parents that he would be unable to physically meet any of the expectations or ideals they'd held for him since he was born. This relationship, and the constant miasma of dissapointment he lived under growing up resulted in Finnian growing up barely wanting to be seen, within the outskirts of Tundes. Others know him, he has a few good friends, but overall he kept to himself. Due to his physical limitations and his chronic pain, he plans to be an herbalist, hoping to find remedies for his own ills, but also excell the way his parents has raised him, if not in the profession they'd imagined.

Relationship With Magic

From a young age, Finnian had always been fascinated by the lore of the pack and in magic, and has secretly tried to hone magical abilities for years, but to no avail. He knows the Tundes look down on the practice, but always having been an outlier, he has few qualms about pursuing what he considers a primal, beautiful power that wolves should embrace instead of shun. When the Kol splintered off from the Tundes, the call of the promise of magic was something he definitely heard... but he feared the unknown of leaving the home he'd always known, and despite their liberal philosophy on magic, Finnian did not share their other... bloodier ideologies. Instead, he continues to pour through what he can find about magic amongst Tundes history, lore and hearsay, and does his best to practice in secret. He has not yet succeeded.
