*wonders how she even passes classes*Yay! It's a mermaid! xD Meh, this started out as a sketch I did during school a few days ago, and then I kept getting bored (especially during Spanish, because we don't really do anything), so I shaded it and tried to make it look pretty ^^
>< The scanner ruined this one (again >< ), but not as bad as the Raven one (I don't think O_o). It looks a lot better in real life -_-
I suppose I mainly drew this because I've noticed how much Teen Titans art I've done (which isn't really a bad thing, I guess xD), and I missed drawing fantasy
Also, I needed to practice on drawing hands (which still need work) and on proportions of the body (especially the lower half >< ). The background is really lame compared to the mermaid, but I can't draw decent oceans even if my life depended on it (they always look really goofy)

hands are indeed hard to draw. But I do really like the picture, I think your too hard on yourself I mean its better then what I can do.

the fins are nice and the ears are good....maybe if you shaded the backround a bit or even just filled it in lightly with pencil it would look fine.

oceans are always tough to master. Start with the waves. draw upward curved strokes and then blend them into lighter areas with small squiggles here an there for accents and endings, the calm seas you just draw a dark area with ripples and light highligts from the sun, moon, or whatever erie glow you want to originate from under water. I love The mermaid's ears, they look elven, and the technique you used to draw the hair and the earings is masterful

Lovely. Her hair and face are beautiful. Her arms look a bit disproportional, though, like her triceps are bigger than her biceps, which seems odd.
