germany/cuxhaven/2012, 07, 15th: duhner wattrennen 2012a unique equestrian sports event on the sea gyttja right in front of of the town of cuxhaven-duhnen in germany. this extraordinary event is taking place since the year 1902.

This has an excellent composition, texture, and depth.
The precise moment of the photo of the main horse actually gives the entire photo a sense of action and speed.
I like the placement of the main horse and rider in relation to the background horses and riders.
Also good choice to have the background almost uniform, because I think smaller clouds would've distracted from the image. I think the image is stronger in b/w than it would've been in color. But I keep thinking I would like to see this image with limited color, maybe only complementary colors.

actually, it's a trotter (pacers move their legs laterally wheras trotters move their legs in diagonal pairs) and there is a moment of suspension in the trot when the horse switches between pairs of legs
it really is an awesome shot though!
