Description The second in my series of endangered aquatic animals in space. I recommend the full view.

This is watercolour, 18" by 22". Pepper says I need to paint larger, so larger it is.

The foreground is beautiful, but I also love the dark background. It is as though they're drifting in space (:

Thanks very much! That's just what I had in mind - I saw them on a television programme and thought they looked like they were moving in space because they were so chubby and slow. ^^

You've done super well in capturing the velvety texture of the skin. I love the starkness of the composition as well, it's beautifully balanced and extremely interesting to view.
Larger pieces are a challenge- I've just started my first 20 X 28" so I know how it feels!

Thank you very much! ^^ One really good thing about painting large - they're real eye-catchers at exhibitions.

Thank you very much! This one is getting a lot of attention at the gallery, partly because it's such a whopper framed. I matted it in black and added stars to the mat, too. I've had a lot of requests for prints (the original is a bit "pricey") so when I have time, I'll definitely need to continue the series.

This is brilliant! I love the symbolic nature of this painting. The details are incredible and perfect. This one just draws you in and makes you want to look more.

Thanks very much! ^^ I'm really happy with this one, too - it's a real whopper size-wise, so I stuck it in the front window. I matted it in a wide black mat and put the stars on the mat as well. I'm so glad you like it!

I can almost hear the music of 2001 Space Odyssey in the background (I think it's the Blue Danube by Strauss, but I'm not exactly sure)
Anyway, I love this series of yours.
