While it's undeniable and understandable that the (OTL) current NHK logo is durable and a sort of a "status symbol" in Japan, I honestly felt that the Japanese public broadcaster need an overhaul/renovation in its image, particularly in its broadcast design, so, as indicated in my post above if it continued as a scenario, in the 85th anniversary of the NHK (2010), a new logo was launched. Here's the symbolism of the new NHK logo:
- Circle - dynamism, innovation and plurality
- Red and White - The Japanese society as a whole
