As the Brookes are of British/English origin, it is logical for Sarawak to use the ensigns of the British/English armed forces as source of inspiration for their own banners; after all, the country, at least in ATL, is under British/English protection. In this case, while the Sarawakian variant of the Blue Ensign is indeed inspired by its counterpart, both in (OTL) Britain and in (ATL) England , the most noticeable difference is that of the national flag in the canton.
