Great image! Looks like a magazine cover from the DC Universe with the Doom Patrol posing for a photoshoot.

May the doom patrol rest in peace. Anyone that's seen Batman the brace and the bold:the last patrol will know what I'm talking about. Also I think they should make doom patrol movie aswell as a beast boy and elastigirl movie with like mento going all evil and elastigirl protecting beast boy with her life literally. What I mean by that is mento kills elastigirl and then beast boy goes all ape literally and kills mento and then starts feeling sorry for himself. In the end he pays them both a tribute by visiting their graves. I know I went off on a tangent but the doom patrol are by far like my favourite superhero team. Awesome pic by the way.

Although the Teen Titans seem to have him monopolied, if that's a word, it's a shame Changeling didn't make an appearance. Oh well you're right they kick ass anyway.

Rita was a real trailblazer back then. She was the only superheroine of that time who practically was in the forefront of the battles. She was one of the guys that the guys didn't mind taking the lead. There was no "Rita! Stay back it's too dangerous." It was always "Rita! Help me. My rivets are poppin'!" "Rita! Quit spoonin' ol'Doughnut Head and help us!" Elastigirl was a far more liberated lady than Wonder Woman back then.

Hey hey,you got great taste in DC's better heroes. I love the DP myself they are truly a great team, especially the original and imo GM version. I wish they had their own series again though, the last one ended too soon.

Hey man thanks. They actually are getting their own series again with Keith Giffen as the writer and Matthew Clark as penciller and from what little I've seen from Clark it looks fantastic.

A new series again...really? ALRIGHT! Just what i've been waiting for. However, the DP did have two recent series a few years back, but neither didn't last enough issues to reach a number 50 like that one time under the GM run.

I personally felt the John Byrne version had real potential, but 18 issues..sheesh! At least he finally got to do a DP of his own. Anyway, keith as writer for DP eh? Well,he did interesting things with JL series back then,it should be intriguing enough. So thanks for the info.

Oh yeah, speaking of DP,DC is reprinting the first and original series on TPB showcase series and will arrive this spring,I can't wait to get the original 60's version in my collection. And..there are rumors of a DP movie in the works as well.

And lastly,I forgot to mention,I have a couple of DP inspired sketches at my gallery, both inspired by the morrison version, which I also am a fan of.

Sorry for going on,DP is one of my all time faves,it's just they should start getting more attention these days instead of all that batstuff we get too much of these days.

Yeah, well like you said, they are also soliciting a showcase presents volume for Doom Patrol coming up so we can always just get that. haha.

I wasn't a fan of Byrne's DP because he just brought back characters without bothering explaining where they came from. I'm not too much of a stickler for continuity but just not acknowledging it at all is a bit crazy.

haha, its so creepy that he would call her mom considering they found him when he was like what, 10? older?

Arcalian In reply to RamonVillalobos [2009-01-29 06:16:20 +0000 UTC]

Well, the closest thing he's known to a mom for years, anyway. Though he doesn't visit "home" much. But then, what kid does?

Cool. I like how the wheelchair and the background kind of mesh, so the figure's more prominent.

I'm digging the big chick, once I grow my hair out a little, I'm pretty sure I'm tall enough to cosplay as her.

Thanks dude. I'm building a slow army of pinups but even if I keep at this rate, It'll take me like 30 years to catch up to as many as you've done. haha.

Yeah, but most of mine are sketch cards... they tend to go a little quicker! I'm trying to get back to full-sized pieces, and have one I'll be posting here in a few minutes. I like that you're doing a bunch of classic DC heroes!
