Pretty good. What's your favorite version of turtles?

The 80s turtles are the best, tho these new turtles are winning me. If Rocksteady and Bepop were to come back and there "romance" drama between the turtles for April or the upcoming Irma... these turtles would be best. You?

The 2003 series is my favorite. I personally think that show was underrated. Sure it had problems. Like the voice actors weren't that great(blame that on 4Kids) and the designs on the turtles are the least interesting of them all. And there are the later seasons where they go to future. But I thought it had most of what I love about TMNT, like the action and the creativity. Nano, one of the villains from the first season, is one of the darkest villains I've ever seen in animation. It also didn't hurt that Peter Laird, the co-creator of TMNT, was a creative consultant, which meant we got episodes directly based of the original comics.

The 80's series well, I think they're okay. I never cared for many of the things they added like April being a reporter or them eating pizza all the time and having catchphrases, and Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady. And the animation would get so bad sometimes that it was distracting. But, it was fun, funny, and had some great voice acting.

As for the new animated series, it's really winning me too. Great designs, great casting, and great action. I'm not a big fan of romances so I'm not really really forward to any more, but I wouldn't mind I guess. Also I'm pretty sure Dogpound and Fishface already fill the role Bebop and Rocksteady(and in my opinion, are better written characters). I think if they do something as mind-blowingly unique as Nano, it might be my new favorite.

Boy that was long.

I knew it. That is the reason you like the 2003 Turtles. Us original fans like the classics because that is what we grew up with. It wasn't about good writing in those days, it was about fun. That is why I like these new turtles a lot. It is smart fun cartoons.

I don't believe that. I do genuinely believe that the 2003 turtles were good. It wasn't about good writing(which it most certainly had), it was just creative and was actually about the turtles fighting stuff. And it was plenty of fun too.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the 80's series, I'm just not as big on it as most people. I really dislike that idea that most 80's cartoons had that putting cool stuff on-screen went above everything else.

You gotta understand tho, us 70s-80s kids had the best series and in deed went beyond anything there was later. The proof is that they keep bringing everything back and when they do it doesn't work out well because they tried updating it. You won't be able to understand that era because you didn't live in it, it was amazing! Entertainment-wise there is nothing like it. Even life because they were better times. No real wars, people were making money, artists were creating and the world was a bit more innocent.

A perfect example would be to compare an Atari with the XBOX360. The Atari had a charm that to this day nothing will surpass it no matter how hard they try or what tech they use. The Xbox is better yes but it is only a machines that plays games, nothing more. The Atari was more than that. or heck the original Star Wars trilogy... to the (vomit) prequels. yes the new ones have great effects and all but they are hollow and with no charm.

As for the Turtles, I'm glad you liked the 2003. Those turtles are more based on the original comics. They were fun but once they starting going to space I tuned out. Also I hate that Casey Jones. The show felt more to me like CASEY JONES and the TURTLES. Like the comic book too, when they started their space crap sales went down but fortunately by then the toys and the cartoon were about to start for Eastman so that brought life back to TMNT.

When I talk about the 80's, I'm referring to the cartoons. Most of them were based on toys and while that's not bad in itself, they never looked any more like half-hour long toy commercial. For example, everyone loves the first Transformers series, but every time I see a clip of those, the dialogue sounds embarrassing. The writing was always decent enough, and the only saving graces were the voice talents. In my opinion, by the time the 90's came around and had shows like Batman: The Animated Series and Gargoyles, cartoons started to get a lot better. I just like series that try to be shows first and promotion second(and it's not like the 2003 series didn't also shamelessly plug toys, just a lot less).

I never felt that Casey Jones overtook the series in anyway. Sure, maybe he was a lot more in it than in other continuities, but he never became the focus. I will agree that he was never a well developed character, but he didn't annoy me in any way. I still think that series had a lot more fun than a lot of people give it credit for. It ran more on action and adventure than charm and personality. I has nothing to do with my age. I just really liked them is all.
