Description
this is a stencil i made as a bar/lounge decoration while in cyprus this easter (2006),
its 6.70m long and almost 1.85m high.
i was given a picture that a designer made, and was told to be inspired from it and make something on the wall (which is easily seen from Nicosia's most central street (Makariou avenue))
i manipulated the picture in photoshop in order to only get the 2 layers i wanted, then imported to Autocad, did all the lines and arches etc. one by one (in vector mode) then mirrored and printed the 2 layers independently (i printed 41m2 of paper). Then i had to cut all the small pieces of paper that i didnt want, throw them away, stick the first layer on the wall, paint the pink colour, and then remove it, cut the second part out, match it presisely to the pink layer, and paint the dark blue one..
time spent:
photoshop + autocad: 1:30 hour
printing: 1 hour
cutting + painting: 14 hours
