Description As probably most artists I have stacks of papers and piles of media that I don't enjoy a great lot. This paper for example is way too dark for the charcoal drawings I like to do, and while it's textured, it has little tooth. The problem with things I don't want anymore but can't bring myself to just toss is, I try to use them up quickly to go on with the better stuff. So when another charcoal drawing failed, I went to one last battle to be done with it. More or less exotic, colourful birds were a fitting choice for the oil pastels that also needed to go. It was actually fun, and as ever so often, I'd like to do more of them; I even got my significant other to try his hand at the kea I then finished for him. "Fortunately" I have more papers I want gone.

The birds are: A European Robin, Indian Pea Hen, Resplendant Quetzal, Crested Guan, Kea, Spanish Sparrow, Starling, perhaps the White-throated Hummingbird, Woolly-necked Stork, another Spanish Sparrow, Black-faced Ibis, Black-headed Gull, Common Crane, and probably the Maranon Pigeon.
Most of these (I'm definitely keeping at least one sparrow. So cute!) are available on Etsy, www.etsy.com/shop/JSLArtShop
