Here's the start of an alternative take on Militarystuck that jumped into my mind. I started thinking up roles for all of Homestuck's characters, and found that a modern military setting works really well.

Here are the first four, sans equipment.

John - Infantryman, who will have all the sweetest tech and stuff!
Jade - Sniper (naturally). pretty basic, but what else would she want?
Dave - Fighter pilot. c'mon… what else would a coolkid be??
Rose - Intelligence officer. Though it should be noted she did see field work quite often.

Hmm. Not so happy with the sprites, but even just across those four, I think I've seen some improvement. The trolls are next, and should be better. Eventually I'll make some comics; I've already got ideas for them.

Oh, and the kids' symbols may or may not be visible on these uniforms. John and Jade's are on their currently hidden sleeves.
