Before we start.Wanna say thank you to the Godzilla fans who offered their fair critiques on the "Godzilla Minus Godzilla" page. I admit most of you raise good points and I may give the movie a second viewing on DVD. It's always best to take onboard others views then live in denial about how you think you know everything.
Me > IGN.
Yet, I just want to say. Just because someone does not like a movie you enjoy does not mean they're a hater or ignorant. They just have a different perspective on things than your own.
Just saying.
But anyway. X-Men: Days of Future Past.

How to put this nicely?
After X2. They've really dipped in quality (even if I regard Last Stand as a Guilty Pleasure) but it did improve with First Class. Then again when the bar is set so low as X-Men Origins: Wolverine, aka "OMG WHAT THE FUCK DID THEY DO TO DEADPOOL!!!!???" anything is a vast improvement! And it was, First Class was a decent movie that was also the first to not be centered on Wolverine.
So you can imagine my relunctance going to DOFP to see the story is alterted so that Wolverine goes into the past instead of Kitty Pryde. I'm not going to get into the nitpicky shit I've seen of "THE SENTINELS LOOK WRONG!!!" cus frankly, nearly every video game and cartoon that's featured them don't look like the comics.
If it didn't bother you then why let it bother you now?
So the basic reaction I've gathered is every movie except First Class is now retconned, leaving only First Class, Days of Future Past and 2016's Apocolypse as the official cannon.
A shame for I enjoyed the first three... but it's a nessacery sacrifice to allow Deadpool and Gambit a second chance I suppose.
I'll let you know in due time if this was kickass, or if Captain America 2 is still my fav movie of 2014.

Well for the most part it worked. DOFP had its flaws but it's still the best one get.

But if Marvel studios had the rights to X-Men, they would be identified as mutants. Characters have appeared to be mutants, but have an ambiguous origin for there power.

I saw Days of future Past and I was pleasantly surprised. I'd say that it's the best X-men film to date.
Actually I'd say it's the X-men film I waited for. The film nailed everything perfectly.
I really enjoyed the look and production of the film. They really nailed the 70's era 110% perfect. Not by just the location but by the news cast that are shown on analog tv. Now that's what I call attention to detail.
And I feel super happy to finally see the Sentinels...well 2 versions of it. It almost feels bittersweet that after years and 4 movies they show them. And They look awesome. But I will admit that the Future Sentinels look pretty scary. I think it's more due to the design. Faceless humanoid creatures that adapt and and change powers at will and are near impossible to kill. It's like the T-1000 multiplied by 1000. For me it's kind of terrifying. In a way it invokes some sort of primordial fear. A fear I kind of like and find welcoming.
In fact I honestly find it welcoming that there's a Marvel superhero movie that takes itself seriously. Yes it has a bit of humor but it's not overblown and in your face as other *ahem* recent Marvel films like The Avengers(I like the movie BTW) and Iron man 3. Not that I'm against humor but it actually undermined the sense of dread and fear. This movie on the other hand it takes itself seriously. There's no pandering banter or dumb self referential humor. Well yes it had humor but it was used the right way and timed perfectly. And it makes me very happy.
And I got to say this I find Quck Silver to be the best character of the movie. Seriously he actually made me laugh. The scene at the kitchen when he has to save Xavier, Magneto, Logan and Beast it was surprisingly funny. I was surprised how creative it was.
Not to mention it has the best use of Duck tape. I in my honest opinion consider it to be the best gag in the film.
And I'm honestly looking forward for the upcoming X-men Apocalypse movie. Ever since I saw X2 I've been clamoring for the appearance of Apocalypse. And now it feels like a dream come true. I'm honestly more excited for that movie than Avengers 2 age of Ultron and Star wars 7 combined.
In all honestly now I'm curious about Age of Ultron. The film will feature Quick Ass(Quick Silver) and Scarlet Witch yet they appeared in DOFP. Not to mention how will they explain their super powers? They cannot use the word mutant because Fox has the rights for it. Joss and Disney have some splaining to do.
But in all seriousness I loved the film and I now want to have Bryan Singer's ba....*Experiencing technical difficulties* *ugh* I cannot say his name?(If you get this joke you are pretty much awesome)
