Description
This is my ferret that has free roam of my room.Her name is Honey.
*EDIT* RIP Honey. I miss you.
Yes I am aware of the fact she is very bald.
This is caused by what is known as "adrenal disease" a cancer fairly common in ferrets. It causes thier hormones to go haywire. I don't know how much longer she will live, since she's very old. But I love her very much.
The reason she lives in my room is because, once apon a time she went into a diabetic coma. We took her to the vets and they did all they could, but eventually told us to take her home saying she would be 'more comfortable' there. Since she hates being in a cage (She's slightly insane and broke one of her teeth trying to get out) I decided she could live out the rest of her days in my room. Little did I know, the rest of her days would be alot longer than I expected! Did I also mention she's deaf?
She likes to lick my toes while I'm at the computer.

Poor little Adrenal jill. 
I have an Adrenal girl, she's just over 7 now and has had her left gland removed...thinking about putting her on Lupron or Melatonin now.

Thank you. I've been trying to make her as comfortable as possible.
Starting to feed her raw food instead of kibble, which has actually been known to cause the diseases she has. It's sad what people will do for a buck.

I just got back. They said that it is likely a mass, and showed us X-rays. They said aside from surgery there won't be much else they can do, and that surgery would be very high risk. There is a medication we can put her on to prevent it from getting any bigger, but other than that...
They gave her about a month, but she has proven them wrong before. Thankfully this time I'm fully prepared, I know she's old and when it's her time, she'll let us know.

She's a sweetheart.
We're going to be taking her to the vet soon, to see if they can do anything about a horribly swollen spleen.
Due to the fact she's so delicate it's unlikely they will be able to do much, but we figured it's worth a shot. She can't have surgery etc. because of how much is wrong with her, and it's likely they may even suggest putting her down, but me and my mom agreed we won't put her down until she stops eating/drinking, or going out of her way to go potty.
Basically, until she stops fighting. As long as she's willing to fight, we're willing to help her.

It's really cool how you're seriously allowing her a fighting chance. It's so sad when people don't do that.

Oh man, I've a huge soft spot for the deaf carpet sharks.
My first (personal ferret to me, not counting whatever weasels I grew up with) was a deaf boy.
I hope the rest of Honey's time with you is spent in complete comfort, however long that may last.

Definately. I like to say she's oblivious to reality. And she probably is. It's what keeps her going I think!
While she doesn't do much but sleep, she still likes to get up and around, and if there's a door, she wants it open. She hoards my erasers and bras and a little green stuffed monkey I usually throw on the floor just for her after cleaning my room.
There are also various rubber farm animals strewn about everywhere.
And the coma thing etc. actually happened over a year ago.

Haha, sure. You'll have to make sure you wave your hand infront of her face first, or she'll freak out since she can't hear you. She's very jumpy. But she doesn't bite. Well except she bites other ferrets lol.
