Link is the silent and stoic protector of Rito Village, he was raised by the Elder after his parents were slaughtered by a lynel, and as such grew up with the Elder's daughter Zelda, as his closest friend. Many speculate that they're mated, but truth be told, Link views her as a sister, and she's way more interested in hens... When the Elder found out that there was a Divine Beast needing a pilot, he knew Link was the perfect candidate.
