It's Monday again... It's time for Pirate Madeline! Last time on Madeline, Random finally turned the tables on Madeline, only to have Madeline turn the tables on him, now captured, what will Madeline do to him and Pokey? But what's this? Who is this new guy? What does he want? Where did he come from? Will Pokey have to get a little suit with little white and black bars? All this and more in this week's Pirate Madeline OH! Who's Red? The black dragon who was recolored red and gray? Come to think of it, maybe he's a hybrid. Body of a black dragon, scales and breath weapon of a red dragon.

Red Dragon is Random's dragon, she appeared only on two pages as a ghostly woman. She is the source of Random's super powers

But why does she look like a cross between...forget it, my brown dragon Grafeidl just wanted to know, but he doesn't have an account, so I asked for him. Look up some Dungeons & Dragons dragons, they're very interesting. Black acid-breathers, green poison-gas-breathers, mercury opium-breathers, orium sentient-fire-snake-breathers, and of course the classic red fire-breathers. Many colors/metals, looks, preferred hoard treasures, breath weapons (some DC's-Silver-Age-esque) and they all have one thing guarenteed: They're all smarter than you. Seriously, if you're gonna do this dragon thing you might as well have 23 different looks (counting the black dragon that Random's one resembles) and 10 different breath weapons to choose from. You could even shoehorn their versions of Dragon God (Bahamut) and Dragon Satan (Tiamat) and put your own spin on 'em. Just sayin'

Thanks Bliss! I worked on a lot of different ideas before I went with making them like this. The ironic idea is, I didn't want the crew girls to stand out TOO much or people would be like, what about so and so or what'sherface. And I only want the show to be about the main 3 girls seen here randommode.deviantart.com/art/… , Random, Locke, Hokey and Pokey
all together 7 people. And 7 is way more then enough then an entire crew of say 100s

A new face?!! Now that's what I'm talking about lad! And good to see someone who can tie in both characters for that matter, its sad that more comic books don't do that too much.
Either way nice way to close off the fight in one way and open this up to another something new to again keep your audience going. Personally have nothing against some aftermaths with a big battle but honestly if you've wasted enough time show every little thing about it then you can just as much try to keep the pace going afterwards. *nods*
But very neat character we have here with Locke, already liking some of that kick ass ninja feel to him both with how he acts towards Random and even how he casually opens up with Madeline. Its good you even keep the rest of the characters involved like Madeline's crew even setting up to introduce him or just Pokey continuing on like any Pokey would, lol.
Along with the good shots of Locke and everyone else a good job with the last panel with Random keeping his cool and even throwing in the big speech to why he's on the hunt for Madeline and that determination you see in his face too, so good! Even the way Locke again shows off his casual nature with that last speech bubble there, again nice way to show some variety in conversation.
So we're out of the battle but your still keeping the flow going Random, I say keep it up and tell the other random blue bull of whatever that's appeared in the top panel to keep making good with those clouds of pink. A true hero to comic book artists everywhere! *tips hat* (PS - Sorry if that really isn't a tiny blue cow or just something else, right now my internet isn't letting me load the larger view of the image, lol).

As for Locke I got a lot to say. Locke was supposed to ALWAYS be there in the other versions, but I never made it this far lol.
But anyway yeah, he is the second man, the other full human so it's not just Random, girls and a lot of little cute things.
I guess because I had so much time knowing how Locke would fit in and close the rift between Random, Madeline and the audience by always pointing out just how weird everything is, it wasn't hard for me to jump right in with him feeling like he was always there. Locke is the every man, even though he's not, but he's a lot more grounded towards the strange things that continue to happen.
Oh Right, the bull guy lol, Well I said I would do something for him for a very very long time I owed him and I caught the perfect opportunity to finally repay him

Simple logic, man if that passes for "Big Brain" in this universe, I think i'd be set. though I guess to be fair that was technically an Eggman gambit..... ya know.... back when Eggman was a serous villain before he started suffering from Bowser Syndrome.

What we think is simple is not so simple to everyone.
You have to make points and make them fast in comic books, you have a lot of things to show and say in very little time. For Locke to say that shows how Locke sees Random for one. And two it implies Random has done other impressive things in front of him. It also shows Locke cannot do that, which adds more to his character, along with him acknowledging he knows about Red which appears as a ghost to Random.
It was a sort of simple trick, Random knows Locke as both Locke and him said, this was mostly for the audience to quickly understand the two of them are old friends. The page following this does it further, the audience just met Locke so in a short amount of time I have to help them form their opinions about his character.
That's all I was doing. But if you are going for elaborate I will hint Pokey and leave it at that until next week
