Rumors are just that. Most of the Reddit Rumors have pretty much been confirmed to be bull *Megan McCarthy made a post on her Twitter about it basically saying it was all just trolls*
While I have no doubt Twilight will become an Alicorn eventually * I mean she's to MLP what Hot Rod was to the origional Transformers, she is destined to be the Next Prime, er Alicorn leader, whatever. But probably not till the series itself is over, for now, everyone chillax and enjoy the ride, the show runners will keep on making it fun*
And even if Twilight does go Alicorn in the finale it'll probably just be temporary kind of one of those, sneak peek at the characters final destiny kind of thing.
