The opposite side of Studley McLadykillerI ended up signing my name on one of the toes of the rooster's raised foot.....
There's an armature pipe that goes in to his but as well, but I photoshopped it out for his dignity.

Yep, there were about 13 armature wires total inside the feathers.
The bulk of the tail comes up and out and then the small feathers I cut with wire and each one was numbered and molded separately.
Putting the pieces back after they were cast was actually pretty easy.
