Description I told my wife I was making babies while she was at work...
okay that was sick..
Here's the second in my "famous monster baby" series.
I'm going to be making a rocking crib that can be sold with each one as well.
The spikes that are in his neck are also used as diaper pins as well.
I guess Dad was in too much of a hurry to use safety pins.
The reason he is pointing with one hand and clenching a fist with the other, is because he is calling out another infant in the monster nursery. He's the bully of the daycare.

these are so awesome, great work! i'm curious what kind of clay you use and what kind of tools you use to get that surface so smooth? awesome!

On the Little Franky I used a mixture of 1/2 Super Sculpey and 1/2 Firm Gray Sculpey.
I'll often use that or also a hard sculpting wax called Casteline.
The smoothness on the Sculpey is helped along with Turpenoid and the Casteline can be smoothed with a brush and Mineral Spirits or lighter fluid.
I often use a scraper/shaping loop tool but my favorite all time tool is a simple nut pick I've had for many years.
I think everyone has a personal tool that works best for them...

So do we...
We love kids for the most part but never plan on having any of our own...(whew)
It's funny too, because my wife is working on a children's book with Little Franky and the other two monster babies in addition to whatever else we come up with.
Should be fun...she's really having a good time writing it.
Can't wait to illustrate it now...

One of these days I'll note you on the little twist my wife is putting on the book.
It's so awesome to see her throwing herself in to it.
She's really creative but doesn't know how to put things out on paper or in clay...
This is a great outlet for her...
