Sometimes as an artist you just need to shirk all responsibilities and do something just for fun! So that's what I did tonight. I'm really looking forward to this movie, and I plan on doing more Watchmen related work down the line. I will also be selling this piece on eBay if anyone is interested.
Mixed media on 8.5"x11" gray paper.

Yea to shirking responsibility! As lame as that might sound it's completely true... sometimes it's the only way to stay motivated, and the alternative for me is producing half-assed work... which nobody benifits from!

How do you get that smooth, blended look on the leather and skin tones?
This is my latest effort, and as you can see I'm still getting some blotchy effects on the skin tones

It can be really tough to blend colored pencil. They sell blenders, but they don't always work very well, and it can take a lot of effort. Sometimes it works out, other times it can turn into a blotchy mess. In other words I have no real advice other than keep experimenting.

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to do things also. It can be frustrating at times, but you just have to try different things, and when something works stick with it.
