do you always pencil out your blacks or do you just do it for the pages you show us here on DA and whatnot?....just curious why you do it if you do always fill in your blacks?...

Hmm. More often than not, the pencils look like this. The exceptions are when it is a large area of black that, in graphite, would only give you opportunities to smudge the rest of the page. Or, when I'm really tight on a deadline and trust the inker, I'll leave them with "x's."
