That's awesome! It makes me want to play Sonic 3 again.
I got a CIB copy of it off of Amazon a few days ago, now all I need to do is wait for it to arrive.

Of course there is emulation... but it's not the same as playing your own copy of one of your favorite Genesis games. And I already have Sonic and Knuckles, so I can play them both together!

Happy times!

Coolness I still have all my old Genesis carts, but I'll probably play my GC Sonic collection cuz I know I still have some things to beat and unlock on that one.

Hey! =O I like this! That's an awesome old-skool Sonic, even for an old drawing.

Great... now I have an urge to play Sonic the Hedgehog 3. (But that's not exactly a bad thing.)

Aww X*) I'm glad you like it! I should have known you'd like it's old-skoolness, though I'd like to play some old Sonic games, myself, sometime

Of course I do! It shows him in his younger, more innocent(?) days before all this nonsense began. XP

You should! Relive his glory days!

One of these days, I'll get around to playing Sonic 3 again, or maybe S3&K ^^ I can't remember if I beat them on my Gamecube collection disc I also have Sonic CD to try and beat.

I know I beat Sonic 3, S&K and S3&K completely on my original Genesis cartridges. I haven't really done much Emerald collecting in the Gamecube versions, though. I wish I had a cheat to go into the Special Stages and collect 1 Blue Sphere for a Chaos Emerald. I'm too lazy (and more prone to dizziness now) to bother with those horrible stages now. XP

I beat Sonic CD completely, getting the Good Future. (Which, apparently isn't canon, if Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06 have anything to say about it. )

Now that was something I was UNABLE to do on my original Sega CD version. I'm thinking it was because I thought I had to get all the Time Stones to get a good future. I didn't realize that destroying the holographic Metal Sonics AND the giant bot in all the Pasts would ALSO get you a good future, which I did.

I beat everything on my Genesis cartridges, too... except Sonic 1 I can't beat the boss of Labyrinth Zone; I always drown I can't remember what I've beaten on my GC discs, but I don't think I completely beat any of the games on there yet.

The blue sphere game is probably my fav special stage out of all of them I think I'm alone in that thinking from what I've seen, though.

Sonic '06 doesn't get a say cuz it never happened

Sonic CD confuses me with it's future and past I can never seem to tell what I'm doing in that game. I'm also stuck on Tidal Tempest XP

It's been so long since I played the original Sonic 1. I can't even remember what Labyrinth Zone's boss was about. I think that's the game I just used the level skip on and jumped to Scrap Brain Zone, maybe... or maybe the level right after Labyrinth... I can't remember. I know I had all six Chaos Emeralds with me by the time I got to Scrap Brain, so... yeah. Sonic 1 was my favorite game to get Chaos Emeralds, though. Soooo easy!

I hate, hate, HATE that (hedgehog) Special Stage. XP I prefer the half-pipe runs over that!

This is true.

How is it confusing? It's listed past or future (good or bad) in place of Sonic's head, plus the music changes. If you want to travel to the future, you have to run through the sign that says FUTURE (and a cool voice says it), and as long as Sonic keeps running, he'll travel through time. The same goes for traveling to the Past. And to time travel correctly, I think it goes a little something like this:

~If you're in the PRESENT and want to go to the PAST - Find a PAST Sign
~If you're in the PRESENT and want to go to the FUTURE - Find a FUTURE Sign (not really recommended)
~If you're in the PAST and want to go to the PRESENT - Find a FUTURE Sign (because the Present, in this case, is the Past's future)
~If you're in the FUTURE and want to go to the PRESENT - Find a PAST Sign (because the Present, in this case, is the Future's past)

In order to get a Good Future, you must keep traveling to the Past to find and destroy the Holographic Metal Sonic and this HUGE bot-thing. You'll know you did right when you see sunflowers sprouting and animals running everywhere.
Of course, you could bypass the robot hunt and just collect all seven Time Stones. (Although, I personally think it's more difficult for me.)

And Tidal Tempest isn't that bad as long as you take the high ground. Even the boss is simple, since Eggman has so many bubbles surrounding him, it's nearly impossible to drown.

Labyrinth Zone's boss was the one where you don't even fight Eggman. You just have to make it up to the top of the level while the water is rising, without drowning/getting skewered on those spikes that pop in and out XP I always die.

Sonic 1's special stage was alright for me. Usually I cheated by doing it in debug mode but I have done it the right way, too! I don't mind Sonic 2's halfpipes, but I hate Sonic Heroes and Sonic Rush's XP~ I guess I'm the only person who actually thinks that the sphere one is fun Well, me and my sis.

I get very distracted by the bgs in Sonic CD's levels o.o They're so bright and busy and I can barely tell what I'm doing half the time. I also don't know the game well, so I dunno where the signs are for moving through time. I just have to play more, I guess =o

I can get to the boss of Tidal Tempest, but that's where I die

Oh yeah!! Now I remember! But, Eggman was there. I recalled hitting him as I was jumping to the top. I even made his Eggmobile turn black and smoke once.

It's so easy, you can do it without cheating. XP But I think it's because of he debug mode is why Sonic Team changed the Special Zones. Now, I LOVED Sonic Heroes half-pipe stage! (I wouldn't have all the Emeralds, if I didn't ). Sonic Rush's was only frustrating after you got the fifth Emerald. Plus, I had to stare at Sonic's butt the whole way... XP (At least poking his buttcheek with the stylus to make him jump was somewhat satisfying.)

But, aren't all the 16-bit Sonic games like that? With the backgrounds, I mean.

You sucked in all the bubbles at once, didn't you? XP

Yeah, Eggman was there and you could hit him once you got to the top, but he didn't fight back or anything ^^ He just ran away

Sonic 1's isn't really easy for me, just doable o.o

Sonic CD's bgs are even more bright and animated than the earlier games @.@

I don't remember what I did It's been so long since I played it.

He should have installed a bomb to drop or at least a spike or two around his Eggmobile so that Sonic couldn't do that.

Really...?

Maybe. But you still did it, right?

What about this time?

Rapha-chan In reply to Powerwing-Amber [2009-11-30 01:01:46 +0000 UTC]

Eggman loves to always leave himself a weak spot that Sonic can exploit

Yeah o.o I lost a lot on those rotating ones.

Yes, but I still dunno what I'm doing with the time travel thing XP I went back and forth several times, but I just can't make sense of it

This time I realized that I actually never did fight that boss before I always died right at the end of act 2 XP~ I also realized that Sonic CD doesn't have the drowning music of DOOM

And when he doesn't (like during that boss battle in Lava Reef Zone: Act 1), he ends up injuring himself eventually.

But... you can easily jump around.

Just stay in the Past. XP That's the best way to do it so you can find all the hidden goodies (and the giant robot and holographic Metal Sonic). Just stay in the Past.

They don't?! I thought they did...
