It's short for Lunatic! The day I adopted her she was running around and acting like well a lunatic and the name stuck! But everyone just calls her Luna.

Thanks and ya but there is always a good thing about it to u can remember the good times that you had with that pet and that the pet is no longer in pain and they are living a pain free life somewhere else. But I completely understand the pain that happened to you.
