Slowbro, or known by its genus and species as Ignasseclutra propagurodea, is a bipedal carnivorous Pokémon. A Slowbro is considered a member of Ignasseclutra propagurodea when the creature that has bitten on the tail of Slowbro, a sub-species of Shellder, has fully shed its previous shell and has fully produced the spiny armor that fully encases the Shellder. This Pokémon is considered to be a part of Slowbro now, as if the Pokémon where to fall off, it would die and the Slowbro would be considered a Slowpoke. Slowbro attract Shellder to their tail by oozing a tasty substance during fishing that entices them to latch on. Upon biting, the Shellder will never let go and begins poisoning the Slowbro. After this, the Slowbro gains enhanced control over its limbs and seem to be more responsive to intellectual tests. The theory as to why this brings alleged self-awareness is startlingly:

Slowpokes have remarkably poor synaptic fire-detecting mechanisms, and this is responsible for their dopy and near unresponsive manor. While Shellder’s poison destroys Nociceptors, it also seeps in a protein that the Slowbro cannot produce that is vital for Myocyte and Neuron sensitivity. Without this, Slowbro would be just as inactive and be completely unable to fish with its lure being permanently occupied, and both Pokémon would die. Slowbro’s also undergo a physiological change due to exposure to Shellder’s poison, with their hind legs becoming fortified and row of slates located on their torso supporting the weight of their upper body. Slowbro’s use their new potential to swim in the bodies of water they once only loafed at the edge of, catching and consuming fish. The Slowbro keeps the Shellder alive by continuing the production of ooze on the surface of its tail. Slowbro’s mating habits are significantly more active than that of Slowpokes, with males taking advantage of the vulnerable and powerless female Slowpokes.
