Just a standalone of my Rokk/Hunter, Khan. I figured I'd upload him here (why not right?)This is his reference image I have been using in a height chart I'm in the process of trying to complete, most of my art has been side views of characters and its pretty boring haha
He does have arms but they're usually kept tucked away under his wings, I didn't want to interrupt his silhouette by including them as he rarely has them on display anyway (ALSO HANDS, hands are the devil)!

No, not really! They can snooze on their feet about as much as we can without toppling! The Rokk are a species tied to old magic, unbound by the usual rules, they shouldn't really exist. So they're this strange mix of human and bird that makes no sense in a world of relatively normal humanoid races - they don't make evolutionary sense like the rest of the world does. The inhabitants don't know any different, they regard them as somewhat strange but that is down to the Rokk being mostly solitary/only rumoured to exist for the past hundred years or so, only recently coming down from their aeries due to Yortma attacks. The origins would be explored in the story if I ever get around to making it - thank you for the questions!Β

Second question; is there a picture of a female Rokk in your gallery somewhere? Β Sexual dimorphism in fantasy species fascinates me.

There isn't, it's something I need to draw but they're not much different - breasts and sleeker features really, a little smaller than their male counterparts!Β
I enjoy subtle dimorphism, so races like Warcrafts Trolls would be out of the question! Hunched, mean looking males with recognisable features with green humans for the females - so sad!Β

Also, since the females might have breasts, would I be correct in guessing that this species will not lay eggs, but rather, give live birth?

Haha very true! I would have loved to see the beta Troll female in game none the less - I can dream, right?
Yes very much so! Pregnancies can actually ground a female Rokk, it's very inconvenient for them, a remnant of their strange heritage (but they don't know any better)

What a silhouette! Loving all the details on his uniform(?) He seems to be well established in that creature hunting business.Β Such well rendered feather texture as well!
It reminds me of all the chickens I've been able to pet. Though I imagine Khan is a no pet zone!
