Alright, critique.
Lets start with the background.
To star off, I think it's cool how the moonlight goes beyond the border of your picture, it's been done before, but when it's done right it's always cool. c:
Your stars are all very bright and there's a lot of them. There's so many and they're all so bright, they take away from the moon, so having good stars, and a good moon instead of making it all good makes it more of a 'meh'.
Considering this is a night scene, your grass is very bright and green. The color farther down a the bottom of the image is the way most of the grass should be, then at the very tip it should be like that with the additional white, that's for the dramatic lighting.
I saw your note on the wood poles, so I wont comment on the shapes themselves. Overall you did a good job on them, as soon as I saw them I recognized it as wood and they're really my favorite part of this piece. But I gotta remind you, there's a character on top of them, so a good deal of the light won't reach them the way you show it does, I'm sure the character isn't completely flat, they must curve out somewhere. Even though much of the lighting shouldn't be n the wood, there's too much on where it should be. You have it there suggesting it curves around. But if the moon is directly ahead, the light wouldn't go around the pole, and if they're square like the tops suggest they are then it really wouldn't curve like this. The best lighting for the situation on those would be a short line of light , again in the air of being dramatic.
Now on to the character.
From top to bottom, their head is turned to much for the pose their body is in, if you want to be able to have a 3/4 view of it, you'd need to turn the body more for it, or else it looks just a bit awkward. The glowing eyes also take away a bit from the moons light,if they were farther apart and the picture was darker, then it would be a better choice to make them glow, but here it isn't. Also all the markings are glowing, further distracting from the moon.
The front leg of the character seems awkwardly placed, it looks almost as if the leg is growing from the chest, be sure to define where these body parts separate, or this can can be a distraction from the actual character. That leg is also a bit thin considering the characters size.
The paw on the other foot, your toes are a bit misplaced. On dog feet, the toes aren't all next to each other, only the two in the center and the other two are lower.
I'm guessing this is just stylized, as doing this has become popular lately, but the tail is very long. The longest natural dog tails would get is the hock.
The back leg is also too long. I'm guessing you had trouble with it, seeing as you covered it with the tail, but from where it starts and ends, this length is possible, but it's to thick at the top to be stretched meaning it's not fully extended and it's that long.
Overall, it's an okay image, though it could use work. c:
The lighting is off on the character as well, seeing as the moon is ahead of it, yet the lighting is on the back.
