Description
Toa Rashzakea
Element: Shadow
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Personality: Rashzakea can be either boisterous and friendly, or quiet and sinister depending on his mood as well as the people nearby. Oftentimes he is sarcastic and tends to make light of even serious situations. He encourages and comforts his companions, and is incredibly loyal and accepting. However his confidence in his own abilities tends to ebb and flow. In combat his personality changes drastically, becoming conniving and bloodthirsty. In most circumstances he enjoys fighting, having referred to it as "A fantastically violent dance of blood and adrenaline". This side of Rashzakea frightens even his companions. He tends to keep his negative thoughts and emotions to himself to an overwhelming degree, especially his general distrust of others.
Fighting Style and Powers: Being a Toa of shadow, Rashzakea can be rather destructive in combat, making him dangerous to both enemies and allies. He has a great understanding and control over the element of shadow, allowing him to wield powers that rival those of the Makuta. His use of shadow energy varies greatly depending on the weapons he uses at the time, and as such changes throughout combat. Rashzakea fights with the intention of learning his opponent's movements, while at the same time causing them to underestimate his abilities with various limitations he places on himself, and them finally unleashing his full arsenal of combat abilities and overwhelming his enemy. It is extremely difficult to gain the upper hand on Rashzakea without having survived a fight with him before, which is rare considering he ignores the portion of the Toa code stating that Toa will not kill unless they have to. Some of his unique abilities include using shadow energy to disrupt his opponent's ability to use elemental powers, teleportation, and controlling his weapon independent of his body. His unique anatomy also causes him to have a supply of elemental energy that is significantly larger than that of other Toa, as well as a few other advantages.
Shadow Aspects: Rashzakea, being a Toa of shadow has the ability to summon Shadow Aspects, much like other shadow users. As with all Shadow Aspects, those whom answer the call of shadow users vary depending on the relationships they form with those around them (as such this bio will be updated as more aspects are revealed to be under Rashzakea's control).
Aspect of Wrath- A giant, muscular demonic figure, clad in heavy plated armor with broken chains hanging from its limbs. This aspect is constantly ablaze with a dark fire that spreads with each of its attacks. This Aspect is relentless, and reckless. While summoned, this Aspect strengthens wrathful shadow abilities, such as those based on fire or weapons. Rashzakea gained the allegiance of this Aspect by becoming Jionight's best friend.
Equipment: Rashzakea wields a massive unique great sword, which he has dubbed Omen. The blade is made entirely of dark protosteel, an incredibly heavy version of protosteel infused with shadow energy that has been deemed nearly unbreakable. Only the very tip of Omen's blade has an edge, the entire rest of the blade itself is completely blunt. As such it is used smash opponents to pieces, rather than to slice and stab as with other swords. Omen's weight causes Rashzakea to be weighed down significantly whilst it is in use or on his back. Omen has other abilities when thrust into the ground, mimicking any shadow abilities used by Rashzakea and generating a shadow aura. This is supposedly due to Omen carrying a small fragment of Rashzakea's soul, making weapon and wielder in sync at all times.
Rashzakea wears the Kanohi Kavas, mask of fury. This mask acts as a store of elemental energy, absorbing energy from the environment passively until reaching its maximum capacity (comparable to about half an average Toa's energy capacity), which causes it to glow a ghostly white. When activated, the mask invigorates the wearer, empowering them with the stored energy to increase their physical strength, and acting as an adrenaline rush. While under this effect the wearer will glow the same ghostly white as the mask until the energy of the mask is drained, and the glow fades from the mask itself.
Brief History: Rashzakea was originally an Av-Matoran whom originated in Valthis-Nui, and was named Razan until the day he became a Toa. Razan served as a knight, protecting his assigned royalty; Akshala, along with Jionight, bodyguard of the royalty Syn. He was kidnapped along with a large number of Matoran from various islands and cities and turned into a Gen-Matoran by Makuta Ikzakaal. He then lived in the Matoran complex along with all other Gen-Matoran under the watchful eye of the Makuta of Xygas-Nui. During his time as a Gen-Matoran he participated in the fighting tournaments forced upon the Matoran for the amusement of the Makuta, and reigned as champion for several seasons until he was finally his friend Jionight fought him into a stalemate. Notable events that transpired before his eventual liberation include his accidental discovery of the Makuta artifact cache, in which he accidentally released a shape shifter from a cursed mirror, who named herself Razana after the one she took an altered appearance of. During the raid on the Makuta fortress conducted by the Toa Xyga, Razan accidentally came into contact with the Dark Toa Stone, which flooded his body with energy, turning him into a Toa of shadow. His mask was given to him by the dying Toa Lhendros, who had been caught in the explosion leading to Razan's transformation, saying that his teammates would lead him to safety if he wore the mask. On the continent of Xygas-Nui he was accepted as a Toa by the council of the now Turaga Xyga, and took on Rashzakea as his new Toa name. Rather than joining the other liberated Gen-Matoran he spent the next 100 years training under Turaga Mystrel to become physically stronger and more adept at controlling his new element. During this time he grew to become physically stronger than the average Toa by a rather large margin. Unfortunately the Matoran of Xygas-Nui did not readily accept him given his appearance, which was to them more like a monster with a mask than a Toa. He eventually met Kabachi, a genius Fe-Matoran armor and weapon maker, who crafted him his new set of golden protosteel armor to dress up his image, and eventually, after inventing dark protosteel, crafted Omen as well. Rashzakea rarely left the capital of Xygas-Nui until the events of Days of Dawn.
