The lighting is actually a sneaky trick. I've deliberately under-exposed by 2/3 EV, then brought the lights up with curves, while preserving the darks. I think it worked well here, its hard to tell it was a miserable overcast day.

You're welcome, go for it -- I'd like to see the results. I learnt it from watching ~andras120 , who sometimes uses it to good effect in his flower shots.
