Whilst I understand what you mean, the fact that his wife was brutally murdered explains a lot about the way he acts. And bear in mind he accepted Jonathan before all the other monsters did and went very far to get him back for Mavis' sake. He's a problematic character for sure but once he realises what he's done was wrong, he actually acknowledges it and goes to the extreme to fix it.

Yeah true all that but even when Drac accepted Johnny he still didn't even KNOW that the world has changed and the other humans too  At least Mavis was being more OPEN & COOL MINDED than him Also Johnny needed to stop being such a WHIMP otherwise he wouldn't have left so fast being scared of Drac when Mavis told him she wanted to be with him that first time

Of course Mavis is more open minded, she didn't grow up personally experiencing fear of humans.

I don't think he was being a whimp. He knew getting in such a complicated family business would eventually end up hurting relationships he can't begin to comprehend. That was probably the most mature decision I've seen Johnny make. If I were a stranger in midst of a family situation that I had no involvement in, and me staying would endanger the relationship of a father and daughter, I'd leave too.

Guess all that's true too Also there was the second movie when Mavis & Johnny had their son Dennis Drac was being TOO OBSESSED about the fact that Dennis was not a monster but Mavis loved her son monster or not & doing all that human stuff for him & that was something Drac just couldn't understand & accept  And there was their pointless trip in trying to force it outta Dennis but Transylvania AND his fellow monsters were NOT what they used to be anymore The problem with Drac was he was STILL so stuck in the past & he needed to get with the new times like everybody else was

Not a Drac fan at all, huh.
It would be nice to see him not being the designated problem of each movie for sure.
Though tbh that's the reason why I like him so much, his problems make him a very interesting character.

It's out here in Australia already for me but I haven't seen it yet. Seems to be Drac centered again unfortunately. I wish for once Mavis would be the one to cause a problem. She's very Mary Sue to me. Though I do still like her.
