I totally agree. I am a firm believer in the Bible and anyone that takes parts of the Bible out and tosses them away as "poetry" especially Genesis, takes the entire meaning and foundation of Christianity. I wouldn't even consider those people Christians.

that's one of the most contradicting things of the bible, you cannot know what's metaphor and what it's supposed to be literal: this way you are forced to accept it or reject it in toto. and since accepting every thing in the bible is something utterly ridicoulous, we'll all be atheists eventually.
