The mud was just frozen enough to walk on, but not enough to keep your boots clean. I likes the snow in the tracks leading to the pile of rocks. This was an unusual place for a city person, but just another days work for the Metamora, Michigan locals. I figured maybe the rocks and soil were being sold as clean fill to contractors.
