Why'd you have to hide away for so long?
I love it when people quote ELO.
Great pic.

As usual, the word that comes to mind is 'epic', that's exactly what this shot is. Such amazing detail.

Hey, I like the texture. It's very painterly. Everything doesn't have to have that ILM sheen. (Industrial Light & Magic)... It's quite a photo.

The texture's a really interesting touch. On one hand I like it, but on the other I'd like to see it without it. Moving past it though, the gradient through the sky is awesome. And the angle really exaggerates the immense-ness of that sky. Well done.
Can I ask what sort of camera equipment you used for this?

hi adam and thanks. The texture thing might just be a flaw in my taste, I dont know why but I really like to enhance the 2D effect of a photograph. There's no deeper meaning to it other than that.
I used a nikon d70, nikkor 12-24mm/G4 (12mm) and a sigma polfilter. RAWconversion in phase1, texture and abit of sharpening in photoshop.

Absolutely brilliant, wonderful harmony of colors, the canvas texture is almost naturally integrated, the concept of shadows are beautiful and effective.
Wonderful work as always, thank you for sharing.

hi and thanks. Texture added as softlighted layer in photoshop. To my knowledge there is no texture adding cameras outthere.
