i was wondering, if you had to choose, would it be canon 50D or 550D?
i've been having quite a hard time deciding which one to buy between the both of them recently. which one do you think is a better buy?

everything depends on what you're aiming for.
550D has video capacity, but lacks some manual photography features. The 50D has some more manual features, but can't take videos.
I personally needed a photo/video camera, but if you don't take videos, 50D might be better suited.

i was wondering though, because you said that the 50D would be better suited if i didn't need video. but didn't they say that the t2i operated very similarly to the 7D? which is superior to the XXD series?
if so, doesn't that mean that the t2i would boast just as much(if not more) image quality than the 50D?

Image quality should be, if not identical, very similar. The difference is in the manual settings as far as I know.

Great picture with shallow dof! I'm considering purchasing a T2i and was just curious if you're using a kit 18-135 lens or something else?

18-55 lens actually, the most basic shtuff there is. I get to use some of my friends lenses, but mostly (and this shot especially) I use my 18-55mm f3.5.

It's a DSLR, so yeah it's "easy" to operate once you have the basis. When it comes to image quality, she was even better than I've expected. The only issue is that you can't really take steady shots unless you have a tripod since it's so small and light. But if you want quality movies for a cheaper price than getting an Sony EX3, that little baby should be exactly what you need.

Actually, EOS Rebel T2i is the american name and 550D is the European name. They just named it differently for the market, but it's the same camera.

Actually it performs almost exactly like the 7D, the only real difference are some manual controls and build quality. It's the first camera I own myself and that I'm actually pushing to the edge so i can't really compare to others in low lights, but i can tell that you get pretty sharp images even at 1600 iso. To me it's one of the best cameras out there, I have worked with a 7D and edited shots from a 5D and have found out that this little baby comes almost equal to them, be it in photo or video mode.
If you are looking for a cheaper DSLR that the 7D but want to get the closest to that quality, T2i's your choice, peroid.
