A masterful veteran of countless wars in service to the Imperium, Kalluin's storied career as a member of the Adeptus Custodes is one worthy of legend.

Depicted here towards the end of his career as a Shield-Captain, Kalluin would go on to serve as an elite member of the Eyes of the Emperor, a sect of Custodes Veterans whose advanced age or grave injuries exclude them from direct military service. We can clearly see the toll that centuries of battle have taken etched deep on his face.

This piece required considerable rework, which admittedly slowed my progress on other projects. As a result, I wanted to upload this in its highest quality (my other pieces are down-scaled for posting on DeviantArt, but the originals are all similar in quality to this one).

I spent a long time in GIMP altering different aspects of the scene, particularly Kalluin's face. Coloration, lighting, fine details etc. all took quite awhile to get just right.
