i hate cia's design so i made my ownamazingly none of my other art has sparked as much controversy when literally all the "redesign" consists of is an armored plate covering her breasts and an extra sleeve. incredible.

You know, maybe she wore those clothes (minus the mask) before she turned bad, based on her illustration on the backstory of Hyrule Warriors.

actually a new dlc costume has been revealed for her and lana showing her in her "uncorrupted" form. im too lazy to go find the picture right now but it's a white outfit

Well it's definitely more Zelda....
which isn't always a good thing. History of zelda character designs is definitely hit and miss.
Some characters tend to look boring. Here I was playing a Zelda game, suddenly there's
this beautiful busty villain..well hey that's new and new is good. I know this is because
team ninja is behind it, and they have made some pretty bad games in poor taste. But I
have to say I think this redesign is pretty bland and I prefer the original.Β
Why people find Cia offensive though, I have no idea. People just say it is, but
never give a good explanation as to why. Large breasts doesn't equal offensive.Β
That they are on display, why not? The game is 12+ rated in my country,
seems fine. No kid ever got traumatized by seeing some breasts, big or small.Β
Nintendo has always been so goody-goody. Lately theyΒ have really been showing
some more guts, by outsourcing the Zelda franchise and embracing a
more sexy design for Samus. I like Cia and her design and I look
forward to playing as her whenΒ the dlc comes out.

I know that. Wasn't it clear from what I said? I meant that Nintendo was brave for letting a third party handle a Zelda spinoff, as for Samus it's of course a different story, but I like both designs from team ninja.Β

THANK YOU! One thing I've always loved with Zelda is that they never sexualize the ladies. (the great fairy is borderline but the graphics were not the same back then as now) I knew as soon as I heard Team Ninja was working on this that some girls were going to wear impractical clothes.
Thank you for fixing Cia, giving a great character a great design.

Not to mention botched! She's killed half-way through the game and replaced with Ganondorf being the main villain. YEAH! Not that I had any high expectations for her anyways but in the end, she just became extremely forgettable.
Man, at least Ghirahim gave me an impression. This lady came in and I still had no idea whether I should have taken her as a threat or not.

I love this better! I just love the personality this outfit evokes, and it suits her features! Nothing wrong with a sexual character, but too many female characters are reduced to sexuality unlike the males, and her original design really distracts me...

I really freakin' love this design. It seems a lot more practical for battle armor seeing as it focuses on protection most of all. The official design ins't really built for safety in battle, but more for showing off and being intimidating and dressing for herself. It would be really cool if she had an outfit like this when she fought, but maybe she thinks she doesn't need it. Magic protection and all?

there's actually a design of her in the artbook that i really like. it was a scrapped concept and she looks every bit as seductive, but she's covered, then somewhere along the line i guess someone said "needs more boobs" and thus the final design was born.

Oh, man, that's beautiful! I would have loved to have seen that in the game!Β But despite the controversy about Cia's design, I'm actually rather fond of it, if only by exposure. (Hmm... maybe I could've phrased that better... but as I can't think of another way to put it right now, I'll pretend I intended that as I joke in order to look smart..)Β Though you can see how the two designs really influence each other, they both have a sort of style about them.Β In all honesty, even though it is more revealing than I would like, I think Cia's design's style is much more fitting for her personality and the Hyrule Warriors style. Then again, I guess you could say that Cia's design really influenced the style of Hyrule Warriors...
Even though it we can't really change Cia's design, I wouldn't object to seeing them use this design (most likely changed a bit to fit the game or character) in a future game for a new character.

i find nothing wrong with and prefer the original and feel the problems people have with her design were uncalled for and misguided and only making the problems they feel they are fighting for much worse and more complicated.
I have a lot more to say on this subject but so does everyone else and I have already spoken at length in several other places about this and my opinion doesn't matter much anyway so I will leave it at that. : )

The problem with that redesign is that it lacks the whole "evil jealous seductress" vibe

Mage's don't require coveralls or practicality in their attire. It's not as if she was wearing full plate with a boob window. Cia's wardrobe was to distract and disorient, allowing her to take advantage on the battlefield; she's peacocking. Glazing over her distracting features means her opponents have less to think about in the midst of combat. Β
That doesn't matter because she dies anyway.

she's not a guy, she just has her chest covered. amazingly when you cover boobs they dont actually disappear, i thought the curved armor kind of made it obvious.
