Australian Raven (Corvus coronoides) and Red Flowering Gum (Corymbia ficifolia) on illustration board in ink/fineliner, watercolours and some white gel pen. I love Australian ravens, they have bluish white eyes, and they're quite small compared to other ravens of the world. However, they do have the largest throat hackles of any other raven! *fistbumps* I adore them.Related content

The additive of the white highlights and spots make for a seemingly sparkling image! You can sense your enthusiasm for the bird- as well as that hint of magic- with those small details.

Ha, the white highlights, sometimes I think I went overboard. I was so excited about that gel pen when I first started using it! But I also just like sparkly highlights everywhere, I blame the raven in me.
