Mysteries of night skies and the wisdom of Athena, perhaps? The owl was one of her primary associated symbols, as her companion was an owl named Bubo
in the myths, if I remember right. I love the detail of the feathers and the depth and darkness of the owl's eyes, as if they can see right through the viewer.
It feels as though this Totem truly knows and sees all...

Yeah, I didn't particularly associate her with any deity, since this piece is going to a friend who is connected to the owl, but lives in Brazil, where owl symbolism is complex and also 'it's own.' So rather than sort of culturally drawing it back to what's most common, I had the general 'goddess' symbol in there for the feminine link, and then left the interpretation to my friend.
