Description
It is dark; the damp night air filtering into this room a reminder of days long past.You and I, the space in between, seemed infinitely smaller then.
Your heart is broken, shattered, but how can you heal if you will not hear?
How can you hear my kindness, love, if you will not believe?
I always hoped for your happiness from afar, my prayer rising for your sake alone.
I gave of myself, letting my own sorrows swell; that is the price of your happiness.
Now though, that joy seems fleeting.
It was my fault; I cannot blame you.
As your sorrow mixes with rain, I will stand with you.
These fragile hands will take your heart, holding it tenderly in the night.
My own heart will keep it warm, as it dries the tears you’ve shed for so long.
My wings will embrace it; a shield of perfect and ruined feathers.
These wings are an embodiment of me.
Take them as they are - Black and White in a world that wishes for Gray.
I pray that your heart may one day soar free with them, unbroken by sorrow.
Until that day, your shattered heart I will keep in my kindness.
Whispering this, I pray your tears can believe.
Whispering this, I hope your heart can hear.
