Well, like any good Star Wars fan (and a helmet-fan), I always loved Luke's classic Rebel Fighter Pilot Helmet. But "design-wise," there were always just a few little things about that design that bugged me. Well, with the introduction of the new Resistance Fighter Pilot Helmet in Episode 7, they went and fixed most of my design issues. I was thrilled! Then half-way through the movie, they went and introduced an all-black version of the helmet for Poe! I was giddy! Then for Episode 8, it looks like they fixed the oddly high goggle-cover area, and now I absolutely love it! So here is my tribute to this awesome helmet design, showing it from all different angles. The stripes, the cool emblems, the asymmetry, the Aurebesh text, the details, I just love it all! And best of all, the design team for this helmet kept all of the design features that I loved from the original Rebel Helmet, and just improved it in the few places where it needed a little refinement. I think the resulting design really rocks.
